Delight your taste buds with a procession of truly unique dishes comprised of regional ingredients coaxed out of the ordinary as Chef Terry Koval of The Deer and The Dove in Atlanta presents a May celebration dinner including live music at The Farm at Old Edwards.
Terry and his wife, Jenn Koval, opened their dream restaurant in Decatur, GA in 2019; their community of fourteen years. After two decades of working in Atlanta's top kitchens, Koval has become known for his avid and continued support of the slow food movement. He proudly works closely with local farmers, purveyors, and ranchers to responsibly source what he needs. As much as possible, he uses ingredients that are locally grown or foraged while embracing the concept of running a low-waste kitchen.
In 2023 Chef Koval was awarded the James Beard Foundation BEST CHEF IN THE SOUTHEAST. Prior to that achievement, he was nominated Star Chefs Sustainable Chefs Award in 2012 and has been featured on Food Network-rated shows "Chopped" and "Diners Drive-ins and Dives". Chef Koval has consistently received the Georgia Organics Farmers Champion gold-level award since 2020. He supports Wholesome Wave GA, Slow Food GA, and Slow Food USA. And, in 2023 his restaurants -- The Deer and the Dove and B-Side -- were both awarded the Slowfood Snail of Approval award for making, "good, clean and fair food for all." The Kovals are dedicated to their team, guests, community, and the support of local farmers and agriculture.
