Mountain-Chic Rooms & Suites
Keeping it Green
200 Main is committed to supporting and sustaining the beauty of our surrounding mountains and abundant natural resources. We weave these practices throughout our property and services.
The 200 Main Game Room is full of family fun—loaded with comfy sofas and chairs, a ping pong table, a stand-up arcade, chess and checkerboards, a shuffleboard table, and video game consoles with popular titles at play on the big screen. You can even check out some favorite board games. Just stop by the front desk for assistance.
Grand Terrace and Firepit
One of the most popular places on the property has to be the Grand Terrace and Firepit. Overlooking Main Street, the spacious Grand Terrace affords plenty of space to sit and relax with family or friends. The firepit casts its warm welcome on chilly evenings.
Make It Memorable
Flowers, chocolates, wines and other special treats make a good stay at 200 Main even better when delivered to your room.
Social Gathering Room
Just off the Grand Terrace and adjacent to the game room is a relaxing space to sit and enjoy a good conversation, read a book, or play a game of cards. An adjoining set of double doors allows parents to conveniently keep an eye on children in the game room.
Guests at 200 Main enjoy charging privileges at all Old Edwards shops, restaurants, golf courses, and The Spa.
Limited Dog-Friendly Rooms
While most of our room types are not available to dogs due to potential allergy issues, 200 Main has limited dog-friendly rooms for an additional charge to those traveling with their furry-faced family members. Dog-friendly rooms must be arranged at the time of booking and done over the phone. These rooms cannot be booked online. You can read up on the dog policy on our FAQ page.
Complimentary Coffee in the Lobby
Our Nespresso machines make it easy to enjoy a cup while curled up in your room, but we also keep a pot going in the Lobby all morning if you drop by.
Highlands Recreation Center
Guests have free access to the indoor pool and fitness complex at Highlands Recreation Center year-round. There are two weight rooms, one for free weights and the other for resistance machines, as well as a playground, basketball courts, tennis courts, and a skate park.
Beer and Wine for Purchase in the Lobby
Highlands is a draw for oenophiles and hopheads alike. Craft breweries and seven Wine Spectator-rated restaurants wait to greet 200 Main guests while in town, but sometimes you just want to stay in. We have a limited selection of beers and wines for sale at the Front Desk. Or you can take an easy stroll next door to the Highlands Wine Shoppe for a wider selection.
Many escape to Highlands to disconnect for a while, but our complimentary Wi-Fi makes it easy to check-in when you are ready.
Hot Tub & Seasonal Outdoor Heated Pool
The seasonal heated outdoor pool and year-round hot tub at 200 Main extends the mountain swim season a bit. It's fun to splash in the sparkling rivers, streams and waterfalls around Highlands, but when temperatures turn chilly come immerse yourself in pure bliss at 200 Main. Typically, open May through mid-October, weather permitting.
Access to Two Golf Courses
Enjoy access to two golf courses from mid-April through November. The Saddle at GlenCove is a new, 12-hole, par-three walking course for all ages and skill levels with a putting course and short-game practice area. Old Edwards Club is a Tom Jackson-designed course carved out of the Blue Ridge mountains. It offers one of the most beautiful and challenging games of golf in Highlands, NC — a region known for spectacular courses. Old Edwards Club also includes a golf shop, along with a restaurant featuring casually elegant farm-to-table food from Chef Jacky Cabler and sweeping, open-air views of the course.
Spend a lazy summer afternoon in the parklike setting of 200 Main. Pick up some fun nibbles and a bottle of wine from Highlands Wine Shoppe next door and relax at one of the new picnic tables. Several hammocks await guests who want to take a break and hang out. It's a great place to disconnect and unwind.
Hit the Greenway Trail
Just across Oak Street, guests can pick up a trailhead for the Highlands Plateau Greenway. Over five miles of sidewalks and nature trails are open to the public daily from sunrise to sunset and offer alternative walking and jogging routes to shopping, restaurants, historic sites, as well as cultural activities and the Highlands Nature Center. Tri-fold maps are available in the lobby or via this link.

“Love 200 Main!”
We stayed at 200 Main in December of 2021 and talked about how much we loved it there so much that we had to book another stay February of 2023. We love everything about the property- it's quiet, well appointed, has great staff, close to dining and shops. Most importantly, it has a fireplace in the room AND heated bathroom floors. Those things alone will keep us coming back again and again.
This most recent trip, we took advantage of the Rise and Dine breakfast package and were so happy with that decision. Madison's for breakfast was lovely and delicious, it was the perfect way to start our day.
We are already counting the days down until our next trip to Highlands.
