Homemade for the Holidays
The holiday season is a time to indulge in homemade treats, and what could be better than a warm batch of chocolate cookies fresh out of the oven? Madison's very own pastry chef, Lauren Bland, has graciously shared her recipe for the perfect chocolate cookies. The aroma of the chocolate wafting through the kitchen is sure to bring back nostalgic memories of holiday seasons past. So, whether you serve them fresh or bag them up as gifts for your guests to take home, let's gather our ingredients and get started on baking up a storm for our festive holiday table!
Madison's Chocolate Chip Cookies
Bake Time: 8-10 minutes
Makes: 18-24 cookies depending on the size
Ingredients
12 oz. Room Temperature Butter
20 oz. Light Brown Sugar
To Taste Vanilla Extract
1 ½ tsp. Salt
½ tsp. Baking Soda
1 ½ tsp. Baking Powder
2 Eggs
4 ½ cups All-Purpose Flour
4 cups Chocolate Chips
Preparation
1. Preheat oven to 375℉.
2. Cream together butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla to taste. Set aside.
3. Mix dry ingredients in a separate bowl (salt, baking soda, baking powder, flour).
4. Combine the dry ingredients slowly with the wet mixture. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
5. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
6. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until edges brown.
7. Cool on a wire rack before serving.
