As spring settles in to the mountains, Half-Mile Farm is thrilled to welcome Ann Marshall and husband Scott Blackwell, founders of the award-winning High Wire Distilling in Charleston. This boutique distillery is dedicated to making premium, handcrafted, small-batch spirits. Their approach is simple: seek the finest ingredients available and develop recipes using a creative, culinary approach. Scott is a CIA-trained baker and applies his knowledge of artisanal grains and culinary techniques to the spirits he creates. Enjoy a sit-down tasting/presentation with Ann and Scott along with the full array of High Wire spirits.
- Friday social hour from 5-6 pm with special High Wire tasting, complimentary hors d’oeuvres and live music.
- Saturday social hour from 5-6 pm with live music and complimentary hors d'oeuvres. Featuring signature cocktails made with High Wire whiskey.
- Saturday presentation and tasting from 3-4 pm; Ann and Scott will speak to the agricultural backbone (corn) of the prized Jimmy Red whiskey they produce and tell the story of this heirloom corn that they helped rescue from certain extinction.
- Saturday and Sunday breakfast from 8-10:30 am will feature Jimmy Red Corn grits and High Wire whiskey-infused treats.
