The South has long been known as a region rich in storytelling culture. With its storied history and constantly evolving present, the South continuously produces award-winning writers. On August 8-10, we are pleased to present five Southern stars for our first-ever Southern Writers Series, a complimentary experience for guests of Half-Mile Farm. Contemporary authors Cassandra King and Ron Rash, Mary Alice Monroe, along with travel journalists Cele and Lynn Seldon, will be in residence for a few fun days of camaraderie and conversations. 

• Sunday and Monday evenings from 5-6 pm attend Social Hour hosted by the writers. Nibble complimentary hors d’oeuvres, and order beverages from J. Henry Farmhouse Tavern. Books will be available for sale and signing. 
• Monday and Tuesday mornings from 8-10:30 am, settle in for a sweet and savory breakfast with recipes from Cassandra King's cookbook in progress.
• Monday afternoon from 3-4:30 pm, join all the authors for a Writers Roundtable and book signing in the Woodland View Room.
