Mountain Blue Book Signing

Saturday, June 5, 2021 June 5, 2021 Old Edwards Hospitality Group

Meet Brevard, NC authors and photographers Les and Janet Saucier and purchase a signed copy of their book "Mountain Blue, the Beauty and Grandeur of America's Southern Appalachian Mountains" on Saturday, June 5, 12 to 2 pm at Acorns.

"Mountain Blue," a coffee-table style book, features more than 150 of the authors' original photographs taken in the Southern Appalachian Mountains, including along the Blue Ridge Parkway. The book includes narrative about how the ancient Southern Appalachian Mountains were formed and other written tributes to the unique characteristics that make these mountains unlike any other place in the world.

Janet Garrity Saucier lives with her husband, Les Saucier, in Brevard, NC. Though fairly new to the area, Janet had "the mountains" in her heart at a young age. Spending summers at her family camp in the Adirondack Mountains of New York since birth, the sense of home was immediate when she first visited the Blue Ridge Mountains. Janet's professional photography career began with her book "Goin' Down the River, Fish Camps of the Sea Islands," published with Lydia Inglett Ltd. Publishing/Starbooks in 2012 while Janet lived in Beaufort, SC. Like her love of the mountains, her affinity for photography began at an early age as well. This is Janet's second book.

Les Saucier has been a professional photographer for more than thirty years and a teacher of nature photography. Les, too, was drawn to the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Realizing that no matter where he lived, he returned to the mountains to photograph and teach, Les became a permanent resident twenty years ago. Now living in Brevard, NC with his wife, Janet Garrity Saucier, Les, who also has a masters in field biology, teaches many of his photography workshops right in his "backyard." This is his first book.

Acorns is located at 212 South 4th Street, Highlands NC.
