40th Season Special Concert

Martinis and Mozart

Tuesday, July 13 July 13, 2021 Old Edwards Hospitality Group

5:30 pm | SOLD OUT

Part of the Highlands Cashiers Chamber Music Festival's (HCCMF) 40th Summer Season, HCCMF presents — in collaboration with Old Edwards Inn & Spa — a special concert featuring the acclaimed Rasa String Quartet. Complimentary martinis will be offered upon entrance to the Orchard House and a cash bar will be available. An hors d'oeuvres reception will follow the concert.

The Boston-based Rasa String Quartet is quickly emerging as one of New England’s finest ensembles and consists of violinists, Maura Shawn Scanlin and Kiyoshi Hayashi, violist, Brianna Fischler, and cellist, Eunghee Cho. They received first prize in the Chamber Music Yellow Springs Competition and the Music Teachers National Association Chamber Music Competition and have performed across the New England area including multiple appearances with Rockport Music, Martha’s Vineyard Chamber Music Society, Boston New Music Festival, and Brian O’Donovan’s St. Patrick’s Day “Celtic Sojourn.”

In sanskrit, the term ‘rasa’ refers to the enchantingly indescribable power of any art form to evoke strong emotions in the reader or listener. Rasa String Quartet is passionate about performing powerful and innovative programs that are inspired by a wide variety of traditions, fuse multiple genres, incorporate different artforms, and help the classical culture become more accessible to all. They have collaborated with such artists as Celtic harpist, Maeve Gilchrist, folk singer-songwriter, Keith Murphy, Argentinian jazz vocalist, Delfina Cheb, Indian kuchipudi dancer, Yamini Kalluri, and Iranian visual artists, the Safarani Sisters.

$50 per person. Reservations required.
